Who This Program Is For
This program is designed for homeowners in cyclone-prone areas of North Queensland who are living in older homes that may not meet current structural standards.
To be eligible, the property must be a freestanding house (not strata or units), built prior to 1984, and be the owner’s primary place of residence. Applicants must also meet income threshold requirements and must not have received funding in earlier phases of the program.
What Work Is Covered
The funding applies to full roof replacements only. Partial repairs or patchwork upgrades are not included.
Eligible upgrades must include structural improvements such as tie-down connections between battens and rafters, as well as rafters to top plates. All work must meet Australian Standards, including AS1684.
Why This Matters
Older roofs are one of the most vulnerable parts of a home during a cyclone. This program is designed to significantly improve the structural integrity of homes and reduce the risk of damage during extreme weather events.

Is your home a freestanding house (not a unit, duplex, or strata property)?
Was your home built before 1984?
Do you live in the property as your primary residence?
Does your household income fall within the required thresholds?
Have you not received this funding previously?
